Data retention
What we store, why, for how long, and how to delete it.
What we store
| Data | Purpose | Default retention |
|---|---|---|
| Verification results (address, status, score, checks) | Show your history/reports; power batch results | Kept until you purge, or per your account’s retention window |
| Raw SMTP transcript | Debugging only | Not stored by default |
| API usage events | Rate limiting, billing, abuse prevention | Configurable retention window |
| Account & billing details | Operate your account; invoicing | For the life of the account + as required by law/tax |
| Public tool queries (MX/SPF/blacklist etc.) | Return your result; per-IP rate limiting | Short-lived; not tied to an account |
Controls you have
- No transcript storage is the default — the raw SMTP conversation isn’t persisted with results.
- Purge — verification records can be deleted on demand (all, or older than N days).
- Automatic retention — an administrator can set a retention window after which old verification and usage records are removed automatically.
Deletion & data-subject requests
To request export or deletion of your data, email privacy@verifyany.email from your account address. Closing your account removes your verification data subject to legal/tax retention obligations for billing records.
Processors
A small number of third parties process limited data on our behalf (payments, DNS, certificates). They are listed on the subprocessors page. See also the privacy policy.
