About Spamhaus ZRD
ZRD temporarily lists domains that were only just registered, on the principle that a large share of spam comes from throwaway domains in their first hours of life. It’s a time-based caution, not an abuse finding.
Why an domain gets listed
- The domain was registered very recently (typically within the last day or so).
How to delist from Spamhaus ZRD
- 1In most cases, simply wait — ZRD listings expire automatically as the domain ages (around 24 hours).
- 2Avoid sending important mail from a domain on its first day; warm it up gradually.
- 3If a critical send can’t wait, look the domain up at check.spamhaus.org for any expedited option.
Before you request removal: fix the root cause first — delisting while the problem persists almost always leads to a fast re-listing. Confirm the IP has valid reverse DNS, and that your SPF, DKIM and DMARC are in order.
